Historical Milestones: The village has a strong history of gold mining with major booms from 1869 - 1879 and again for 1885 - 1899. A stopover for the Cobb and Co coaches from Orange to Canowindra.

What you can expect now: Cargo offers a relaxed lifestyle, and it’s a great stopover for lunch or a drink with friends. Families will enjoy the inviting parks and gardens with BBQ facilities. The village is surrounded by prime agricultural land  - the slopes and hills are a photographers delight and just a 30 minute drive south west of Orange.
