Phillip and Michelle Stivens grew up on the land. After 25 years in the corporate world and five adult children they purchased Heifer Station to grow fat cattle, with no thought of becoming vignerons. But the vines are positioned on red loam soils over limestone, rising to an altitude of 900m.The vineyard enjoys a near perfect balance of elevation and sunshine, an ideal location for growing Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Merlot and Shiraz. After much contemplation they decided to give the vines a chance and the rest is history.
