Orange and its surrounding region celebrate the Banjo Paterson Australian Poetry Festival in February every year. Andrew Barton (Banjo) Paterson was born at ‘Narrambla’ Orange on 17 February 1864. Banjo is an Australian legend. He lived in Yeoval until he was about 7. This festival highlights not only Banjo Paterson but is an opportunity to celebrate all Australian Poetry and Poets in general.
The 2017 Banjo Paterson Australian Poetry Festival program is a ‘whole community’ Festival. We aim to deliver a quality program that will be of great interest to visitors and showcase the diversity our region has to offer. For the full program click here.
